Dread Not is a Deltarune/Undertale AU about the kingdom of monsters that won the war against humanity.
This AU is updated weekly on Twitter and Tumblr. For links to those profiles, check the bottom of the page.
Story Premise
As stated above, the core premise of this AU is a world in which monsters won the war against humans. Soon after the war was won, Toriel was crowned Queen, and the events of the comic follow what happens after.
No character will be followed as the sole main character, even if a few will show up more often than others. Most characters in the comic are pre-existing characters from both Undertale and Deltarune (Chapter 1), with a few notable exceptions. This comic aims to give the limelight to as many characters as possible in the context of the AU, both from Undertale and from Deltarune (Chapter 1), but this does not mean every single possible character will show up.
Currently, the 1st Act of the story is being uploaded.
Prominent Characters
Minor spoilers ahead, skip this page if you are avoiding them.
Toriel
The recently crowned Queen of monsters. Confides in her royal scientist about her troubles and insecurities.
Gaster
The royal scientist and Queen's sole confidant. Quite eccentric, with unorthodox ways of doing things and proving points.
Asgore
A royal guard, loyal to the Queen, and very close with her and her royal scientist, too. Took in Kris, a human child, as his own years ago.
Kris
A human child in a monster world, recently learned how to empathise. Their favourite toy is their wooden sword.
Spade
In another world, a tyrant, but in this one, just another royal guard. Loyal to the queen but distrustful of most everyone else.
Content Warnings
This is a list of content warnings for certain things that happen in the comic. They include spoilers for both major and minor events. If you do not need to look through the content warnings, please refrain from doing so, as it may spoil events to come.
Additionally, please do not spoil said events in the comic to other readers if you plan to read through this page.
Aracnophobia - Spiders are visible, interacted with and at one point eaten (not graphic, used as a joke). Muffet will also make an appearance in future instalments, semi-prominently.
Entomophobia (fear of bugs) - Bugs will also be interacted with in the comic. Unsure if they will be eaten or attempted to be eaten, however if you count spiders as bugs, read above.
Coulrophobia (fear of clowns) - If Jevil counts, then yes clowns will appear. If he doesn't count, then no I don't think any clowns will appear. None are planned, at least.
Claustrophobia - One or more characters may be too tall or too wide to fit into a space comfortably, however as of right now, nothing is planned to actually make any characters visibly stuck in a space too tight for them. I'm not sure if the top of a character's head being visibly almost to the cieling of a room counts here, but if it does, that will happen.
Does the dog/cat/animal die? - No animals are planned to be hurt on-screen as of right now, however mention of animal death (bears and wolves most likely) might appear in future instalments.
Violence - Fight scenes will happen, characters will get hurt, however it'll be kept cartoon-y and not gorey through the entire comic, even when a certain character gets halfed. Blood will be visible, and slight burn-marks as well.
Major character death? - No, there will be no major character death, however that in and of itself is a spoiler.
Abuse of any kind? - No child abuse, animal abuse, or any other kind of abuse will occour.
If a content warning hasn't been written here, but you would like to make sure if it does/doesn't appear in the comic, feel free to @ me on twitter (Kooki_914), I'll do my best to answer in a timely fashion. Avoid trying to reach me on any other platform as I am not as active anywhere else. And, if I think the warning is needed, I'll add it to the list as well. Thank you in advance.
